Amanda Karl Joins the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation

Gibbs Law Group is proud to announce that our partner Amanda Karl has become an American Bar Foundation (ABF) Fellow!
ABF Fellows are a global honorary society of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession and to the welfare of their communities. Amanda was nominated for this exclusive fellowship by her peers and then elected by the ABF Board. ABF Fellowship membership is limited to just 1% of licensed attorneys in a jurisdiction.
As a Fellow, Amanda will help further ABF’s goals of engaging in research, writing, programming, and policy recommendations that move the needle towards greater equality and justice for the legal profession and society as a whole.
About Amanda Karl
Amanda prosecutes a wide range of complex cases, including product defect, failure-to-warn, wage and hour, data breach, sexual assault, and securities cases. From 2018-2024 she’s been honored as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a highly selective award that recognizes top attorneys under the age of 40. In 2024 she was also named a “Top Class Action Attorney Under 40” by Law360.
Amanda is deeply committed to mentorship and has supported many law school recruiting efforts to help expand the pathway for plaintiffs’ lawyers from underrepresented backgrounds, including the firm’s the firm’s 1L Diversity Fellowship. Amanda has also spearheaded the creation of Gibbs Law Group’s Voting Rights Task Force, which seeks to identify opportunities for both attorneys and staff to promote voter engagement and maximize voter participation.
Amanda received her law degree (Order of the Coif) from Berkeley Law. Outside of work, Amanda serves on the Board of Directors of the East Bay Community Law Center.
